About Katie Atwell, MS CHES

Katie Atwell is a health educator based out of Vinings, GA.  She discovered a passion for systems biology while attending the prestigious Alabama School of Math and Science, where she received her high school diploma.  She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Mississippi State University.  During her tenure as an undergraduate student at Mississippi State University, she served as the Gamma Zeta chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha’s Director of Member Enrichment.  While serving in this leadership capacity, she experienced health and wellness programming for the first time.  With the marriage of her knowledge of the human body to behavior science, something clicked, and she fell in love and saw a career that she could be passionate about for the first time.  She then continued her education by obtaining her Master of Science in Health Promotion from Mississippi State.  She chose to focus on complimentary and alternative medicine strategies during her course work.  She has furthered her commitment to the field of health education by becoming a Certified Health Education Specialist.  Katie has been blessed to work with patients who have chronic health concerns at a number of well-known integrative medicine clinics in Alabama and Georgia.  She had chosen to focus her professional practice and continuing medical education in the area of women’s health across the lifespan and optimizing wellness for neuro-diverse children and teens.

Katie’s private practice and blog were born out of her desire to be able to work one-on-one with clients who have needs that may need to be addressed outside of the traditional clinic setting. She provides health coaching for children of all ages who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, ADD, developmental delays, and learning disabilities. These diagnoses and their related disorders such as gastrointestinal issues, food allergies, food sensitivities, and feeding problems can be addressed by taking a holistic view of the patient. Katie also provides health coaching for typical developing children whose parents are interested in consulting to maximize their child’s health. She also loves working with women in the perinatal period and beyond to help the biohack their hormones, address difficult weight loss, and get to the root cause of why they just don’t feel well.
